전시컨벤션센터 신ㆍ증축시 전시산업의 수요예측에 대한 비판적 고찰
본 연구의 목적은 전시컨벤션센터의 신·증축 예비타당성 조사에 사용된 수요예측 사례를 살펴보고 국내 전시컨벤션센터의 규모에 영향을 미치는 요인은 무엇이며 이를 예측하기 위해 다양한 분석기법을 사용하여 결과를 비교·분석하고자 하였다. 연구의 목적을 위해 국내 전시장 수요예측과 관광산업 수요예측에 관련된 선행연구들을 분석하였으며, 실증분석을 위해 추세변동을 이용한 시계열, 지수평활, ARIMA의 3가지 시계열 분석과 희귀분석을 실시하였다. 분석결과 ARIMA 모형에서는 2016년부터, 추세변동을 이용한 시계열 분석에서는 2017년, 회귀분석과 지수평활법에서는 2021년에 전시장 면적 부족이 일어날 것으로 예측하였다. 본 연구에서는 전시산업의 수요를 예측하기 위한 다양한 방법을 이용하였고 그 기법들이 가지는 적합성과는 별개로 수요예측에 대한 기준이 정해져 있지 않아 가져올 수 있는 문제점이 있다는 것을 확인하였다. 분석결과에서 보다시피 시계열 분석의 경우 동일한 데이터를 사용함에도 수요예측 기법에 따라 다른 결과가 도출되었다. 전시산업의 수요예측을 측정함에 있어 전시컨벤션센터가 가지고 있는 파급효과를 적극적으로 반영하여 경제적 가치를 파악할 수 있도록 전시산업통계와 같이 전시산업에 대한 특성을 반영한 자료를 이용하여 보다 논리적으로 수요를 예측할 수 있는 기준을 마련해야 할 것이다.
A Critical Review of the Demand Forecasting Method of Trade Fair Industry
As the trade fair industry grows in Korea, cities are seeing a boom in the development and expand of convention & exhibition centers. This study aims to examine the improvement of the demand for convention & exhibition centers. For this purpose, this study employes a quantitative case study approach - time-series, exponential smoothing, ARIMA model and regression analysis. This study predicts the demand for convention center space has and will outrun increases in the supply of space from 2016 to 2021. In this study, we used various methods for the demand of trade fair industry that showed different results. For this reason, they have their own characteristic feature. We propose to use that the trade fair industry standardized data for the demand of convention & exhibition centers. This study offer for public investment and serve to bias public decision making and choice.
