전시컨벤션 산업에 대한 대학생의 직업 가치관, 핵심 역량, 직업 기대, 전공 만족에 관한 연구

전시컨벤션 산업은 경제적 파급효과와 일자리 창출효과가 큰 고부가가치 산업으로 우리나라를 비롯한 세계 국가에서 성장전략산업으로 육성하고 있다. 최근 우리나라의 컨벤션 산업은 괄목할만한 양적 성장을 기록하였을 뿐 아니라 향후 지속적 성장이 예측된다. 그러나 이러한 양적 성장에도 불구하고 질적 성장의 평가에서는 부정적인 것이 사실이다. 유능한 인적자원의 양성과 확보는 전시컨벤션 산업의 질적 성장을 유도하기 위해 중요한 이슈로 대두되고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 예비 취업자인 대학생을 대상으로 전시컨벤션 산업에 대한 취업 가치관, 전시컨벤션 산업에서 요구하는 핵심 역량을 조사하였다. 또한, 전시컨벤션 산업에 대한 취업 가치관과 핵심 역량이 취업 기대와 전공만족에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 조사하였다. 나아가 취업 가치관과 핵심 역량이 일반적 사항에 따라 차이가 있는지 조사하였다. 연구분석결과 전시컨벤션 산업의 취업 가치관은 5개, 핵심 역량은 4개 요인으로 분류되었다. 취업 가치관과 핵심 역량은 취업 기대와 전공만족에 부분적으로 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 취업 가치관과 핵심 역량은 일반적 사항에 따라 부분적으로 유의미한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 분석결과를 바탕으로 몇 가지 시사점을 도출하였다.

A Study on the Job Value, Core Competencies, Job Expectation, Major Satisfaction of University Students in Exhibition·Convention Industry

Exhibition·Convention industry is a highly value-added industry with huge economic impacts and capability of creating jobs which has been raised by countries around the world as a strategic growth industry. Recently, exhibition·convention industry in Korea not only has recorded remarkable quantitative growth but also is expected to sustain its growth trajectory in the future. Despite enormous quantitative growth, however, it is also true that assessment on its qualitative growth is negative. Cultivation and securement of competent human resources has become an important issue to induce qualitative growth of exhibition·convention industry. Therefore, this study conducted a survey on university students preparing for jobs regarding values on jobs and core competencies in exhibition·convention industry. In addition, study investigated the effect of values on jobs and core competencies on the desire for employment and satisfaction with their majors and, further, examined if values on job and core competencies are different depending on demographic traits. As the result of analysis, values on jobs were classified into 5 values while core competencies were classified into 4 factors. Values on job and core competencies had partially significant effect on the desire for employment and satisfaction with their majors. In addition, recognition on surveyed factors had partially significant difference depending on demographic traits. Based on this result, this study was discussed the several implications.
